Is using a photoshop tutorial has a help cheating?

Basically, I've been using photoshop for nearly 5 years, I do create my own stuff.
But lately I have been following these internet tutorials that help you create things on photoshop…Would that be cheating or stealing someone elses work? I am really worried that I'll lose my creativity that way, and that my works lose their originality…:(

can anyone help please.
Thank you

With "creating my own stuff" do you mean painting/drawing your own pictures?

Tutorials submitted by other users who wants to share their ideas, tricks and tips. It's not a good idea to follow a tutorial exactly step-by-step and using the same sources as the writer, but it's not stealing, if you use their ideas to create your own example of the effect.

I started working with Photoshop this year, may I see some of your results?

Photoshop tutorial where I can make a clear background?

I would like to take a person out of a picture and put that person in their own frame without a background using photoshop. Can someone explain how or share a tutorial?

When I say no background I mean… Only that person.. there is no white background, it's clear.

Use the selection tool like the lasso or magic wand and begin the long process of selecting that person. Once you do that then go to edit and copy (or cut) (also make sure you are on the same layer as the person is on. Open a new document and paste that person in. Then in the layers window their should be a layer called layer 1 and another layer called background. Click the eye on the background layer to make it invisible File save. I believe you have to save it as a PNG or PSD in order to preserve the transparent background layer.

Where can you buy adobe photoshop elements from in Australia?

I need Adobe photoshop elements but don't want to buy it online. Is there any main stream retailers like office works or harvey norman that perhaps would sell this software. please help.

i am positive you can get it at these major stores. dicksmith electronics, harvey norman, powerhouse, officeworks etc. Computer shops would of course stock them. You could even try EB games, myer and david jones. Good luck is good software once you can get your hands on it.

Adobe Photoshop: How to make a photo look like a Japanese woodblock print?

I am working in Photoshop CS3 and would like to edit a photograph of mine to make it look like a Japanese woodblock print. This would probably involve creating a dark outline around the objects, and flattening planes to make them look more 2D. I'm also interested in trying to replicate the colours. Thanks!

There are 2 techniques you can probably use to do this.

The first technique is one that I found on this website. It has info on how to create some dark outlines.
http://www.illustratortips.com/index.php/Instruction/Advanced-Tips/sparkle-and-glow.html

The second technique is by replicating traditional filters. This site has some details.

Creating a realistic Japanese woodblock print out of a photo would be quite tough and requires a lot more work so I wish you all the best of luck!

Which Photoshop is best for simply coloring images and drawings of mine?

I want to ask for Photoshop for Christmas so that I can color my artwork and upload it for my friends, but I have no clue which is best for this. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

Elements. Photoshop Elements. its surprisingly inexpensive ($75) but it is a really good product. it is simple, has a nice interface, seems just perfect for coloring. I have it btw and i also have cs2 but i dont even use it because elements is so much better. Admittedly, elements doesnt have as many little functions that cs2 and 3 have, but it has everything you will need. If you would like some proof, heres some art of mine i have done in Elements. http://paleo12.deviantart.com/

What kind of Photoshop project should I do for Digital Design class?

I'm trying to think of a project I can do with Photoshop. I'm a novice at using Photoshop, but what are some things I can do with it that aren't too hard, but aren't too easy either?

You can take pics of yourself of someone you know and put them with a different background. Like make it look like you went to Europe or something. Photoshop yourself into that setting.

You can also put your head on a different body or something. It's not too difficult to do, but in order to get it to look real, you have to work hard at the colors, textures, etc.

Worth1000.com has some pretty cool photoshop contests. You may be able to get ideas from there.

Good luck. It sounds fun!
