Is using a photoshop tutorial has a help cheating?

Basically, I've been using photoshop for nearly 5 years, I do create my own stuff.
But lately I have been following these internet tutorials that help you create things on photoshop…Would that be cheating or stealing someone elses work? I am really worried that I'll lose my creativity that way, and that my works lose their originality…:(

can anyone help please.
Thank you

With "creating my own stuff" do you mean painting/drawing your own pictures?

Tutorials submitted by other users who wants to share their ideas, tricks and tips. It's not a good idea to follow a tutorial exactly step-by-step and using the same sources as the writer, but it's not stealing, if you use their ideas to create your own example of the effect.

I started working with Photoshop this year, may I see some of your results?

    no, its how you learn!

ps has so many complex features and tools, that it is impossible to figure them all out yourself, let alone cool ways to use them

dont feel guilty, you are learning!

In real life there's no cheating (almost). If you see an idea, method, procedure, whatever, that will make your life easier or work better without hurting anyone else, take it, use it. Cheating is something you do in school. In life, people who learn and adapt using a multitude of resources are the winners not the cheaters.

Why would this be cheating? Its not a contest or a game.

Tutorials whether written, spoken or demonstrated is how people learn. If you were to take courses in school for Photoshop, you are not just given the program and told to learn it on your own. You are given instructions and guidance.

I've been using Photoshop for about 8 years or so and this is how I learned what I do know today. Some of these tutorials even led me to discover things that were not actually taught in the specific tutorials.

Do not feel bad for using tutorials. This is what they are meant for.
