basically you paint out the part of a layer that’s not going to be affected by the mask, and what ever you brush won’t be affected but, your shirt for example. you should look it up though. it’s more to it than that.

Nice tutorial, I guess — but if there’s anything you should apologize about it’s not the aspect ratio of the video — it’s the terrible audio. Sounds like you’re underwater.
Perhaps you compressed the audio too much whilst recording? =/
