how did you make the diameter of the eraser go smaller or bigger without changing it on the toolbar?

something that will help you out, instead of using the eraser tool to erase the background layer, go to the paths tab (next to layers) and create a new path. now grab the pen and just click “verts” around your art. then right click the path and select “make selection”, then invert the selection and press delete. saves a massive amount of time

i use a wacom religiously for sketching on photoshop, but i generally do this kind of stuff with the mouse. it’s just a lot less of a hassle sometimes, but i definitely recommend a tablet

If I had the extra money I would get a Wacom tablet. There’s definitely a learning curve if you’ve been using a mouse for a while, but most professional graphic artists use the pen/tablet setup. It’s nice if you get one that lets you slide a photo or image under the pad so you can trace over items.
